OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the Catholic Church’s way of welcoming and instructing individuals who desire to become members of the Catholic Church.
OCIA is open to any non-Catholic who wants to learn more about the Catholic faith, or for those baptized Catholic who have not received First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. OCIA is a process of instruction, reflection, and prayerful discernment. All are welcome to attend the initial "Inquiry Sessions" without a formal commitment.
OCIA begins each fall with sessions for open questions and conversation. Formal classes occur weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm in the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. Each class consists of prayer, instruction, scripture, and community. Those who complete the required classes and discern that God is calling them to His Church join on the Easter Vigil of that year.
